A warm welcome to our blog and the beginning of a journey through the history of Shettleston. The Heritage Trail is the combined efforts of: Fuse youth Café, Northlight Heritage, Shettleston Housing Association and the Heritage Lottery Fund. This exciting new challenge will see the construction of a heritage trail around the landscape of Shettleston, in time for the Commonwealth Games in July 2014. The trail aims to place Shettleston firmly on the tourist trail map and will be accessible to young and old alike, from maps to apps, everyone can enjoy following the Shettleston Heritage Trail.
This week, we have been discussing plans for a logo for the project and have decided that the design should come from someone who lives in Shettleston. So budding artists from the area can send their designs directly to us on this page and we will choose a winner.
Meanwhile, at Northlight HQ, we are planning the coming workshops which will be available from February to May 2014.
Anyway, must get back to work, and get prepared for our launch on Feb 6th. Everyone's welcome!
Bye for now
